Baby, you’re a firework!
Bonfire night is just around the corner and that means one thing. Fireworks!
We’re definitely dreaming of watching the sky fill with lights, drinking hot chocolate, and praying that mud doesn’t leak into our ankle boots (that we insisted would be ok for a muddy field!).
If you’re in the North East and wanting to commemorate Guy Fawkes’ demise in the most colourful way possible, we’ve gathered together a few local events for you to check out.
Fireworks, carousels, and local food and drink means that the Framwellgate Moor bonfire night celebration is going to be a blast (pun intended)!
As well as the main event, there will be music and theme park rides! No matter your age, you’ll have a great time here. Plus, it’s free!
Where: Framwellgate Moor, Durham, DH1
Tickets: None required
Gosforth Fireworks Extravaganza
Newcastle Roundtable is back with their bigger than ever Bonfire Night Extravaganza.
With rides and attractions perfect for children, the whole family will find this evening one to remember.
Plus, all the money raised from this event goes to supporting local causes!
Where: Broadway West Playing Fields, Gosforth
Time: Doors at 5pm, show starts at 6.45pm
Psychopath Presents: FearGround
Branding themselves as a Scream Park means that you’re bound to be in for a night of fright.
Spooky attractions, cocktails, and street food are just the tip of the iceberg. With the Stage Fright attraction, you’ll see all sorts of fantastic performers, like aerial acts and fire performers to really spice up your night.
Where: Lintz Hall Farm, Burnopfield, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, NE16 6AS
Time: Doors open at 5pm with last entry at 10.30pm
Overlooking the North Sea just off Whitley Bay, North Tyneside’s show is free for everyone to attend.
Fairground rides, food and drink will be available before the show, which will take place on Sunday, as opposed to the ‘official’ bonfire night’ on Friday.
Where: The Links, Whitley Bay, NE26 1TQ
Time: The event starts at 6pm and then the show starts at 7pm
Tickets: None needed
Newcastle Racecourse Fireworks and Funfair
In partnership with Spectrum Fireworks, Newcastle Racecourse’s show is perfect for all ages.
Music from the local radio station will provide the soundtrack to an evening of face painting, fairground attractions, and glitter stands before the sound of colourful gunpowder fills the skies.
Where: Newcastle Racecourse
Time: Gates open at 1pm, with races starting at 2.25pm
